At Siti Med Spa in San Diego, we offer a number of different laser treatments, each designed to correct a range of different cosmetic issues, from fine lines and wrinkles to hyperpigmentation and rosacea. Healing times vary not only by the type of laser used but also by the individual, as everyone responds differently and has different individual healing rates. Read more about Botox here. In general, however, most treatments do have an approximate healing time. Here are three different laser treatments we offer at Siti Med Spa—and their typical corresponding healing timelines. On average, the skin requires a minimum of four weeks to heal before it’s recommended that another laser skin resurfacing treatment be performed. There are several skin types that might require treatments this often, likely to maintain results.

Laser skin tightening before and after comparisons show the efficacy of these treatments. The revolutionary Halo™ laser system is the first laser skin resurfacing treatment that uses both ablative and non-ablative means. So, layers of skin are removed while the production of collagen in the skin is increased. Halo™ improves sun-damaged skin, large pores, tone and texture, discoloration, and skin reflectivity, which can help give you the smooth, soft, and glowing skin you desire. Laser skin resurfacing treatments can completely eliminate your acne scars and even prevent new ones from forming, but often the cause behind acne scars is genetic. They form when a blemish is healing, either because there is too much or too little collagen, leaving behind abnormally textured skin.

Is Laser Skin Rejuvenation Right for Anyone?

The number of laser treatments required to significantly reduce acne scars is usually between three to six treatments, over a period of a few months. You will likely no longer require additional treatments once you’re satisfied with the look you always wanted. The effects of laser skin resurfacing are long-lasting, whether it’s through fractional or CO2 laser. Experts agree that the effects last for as long as eight years or even longer. If your doctor is doing a facelift, they may go over the same area on your skin very lightly once more. If follow-up sessions are necessary, expect it to be a lot less intensive than your initial treatment.

Furthermore, if you spend too much time in the sun, this treatment is the most effective way to repair the damage to your skin. Although you will notice some results after just one laser treatment, such as the fading of dark spots, fewer wrinkles, and other benefits, you will need more than one treatment to achieve the best results. Because your body is healing naturally, your skin will improve for several days or weeks after your laser skin treatment. Too much time in the sun and acne can cause wrinkles, scars, and lines on your face. People will pay as much as they can for products that reduce fine lines and tighten their skin. Only a few products, however, make you look as young as skin laser treatment. The SmartSkin system targets water molecules within the skin and passes laser energy through the epidermis where it is then delivered to the deeper, collagen-bearing tissues below.

AcuPulse features the brand’s SuperPulse Technology, which has an exceptional ablation-to-coagulation ratio so that the laser can reach the desired treatment depth with a single pulse. The AcuPulse laser is also a fractionated CO2 laser device, meaning that it lays down a small pattern of dots so that the skin can heal more quickly rather than treating the entirety of the skin. An ice pack or cool wet cloth can be applied on the skin to relieve these side effects. An over-the-counter pain reliever can be useful to reduce swelling and alleviate more severe pain. Aqua Plastic Surgery is pleased to now offer IV sedation for most surgical cosmetic procedures. An alternative to general anesthesia, IV sedation is both safe and reliable. If you suffer from pain, muscle fatigue, aches, or a general lack of energy, the problem might be vascular.

It took about four weeks for the skin to heal and up to three months for redness to resolve. Aging causes the skin to lose its elasticity as collagen production wanes. As people age, the skin does not bounce back as easily as it did in their youth.

Dr. Kingston may recommend ablative or non-ablative laser therapy to address unwanted signs of aging. Ablative treatments remove the outermost layer of tissue, while our non-ablative laser heats the deeper layers without removing the skin. Fraxel lasers, requiring six to eight passes across the treatment area, create tiny holes, leaving surrounding areas intact. The skin tightens by regenerating collagen through intact skin bridges between these tiny holes. Apart from explaining how laser skin resurfacing works, Dr. Jose Barrera will outline why it is something for you to consider during the holiday season.
